Tutoring Policies:

  • Must be a UTD student.
  • 1 hour per student per week.
  • Tutoring can take place any where of convenience, even in the SWE office EC 2.332.
  • Walk-Ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.
  • Tutors volunteer their time and are NOT paid.
  • Tutoring is at the leisure and discretion of the tutor.
  • Tutors are students too. We have midterms, exams, and homework just like you.
  • Tutors give assistance, not answers.
  • Asking for tutoring the day of your homework due date is frowned upon.
  • No tutoring for Electrical Engineering labs (EE22XX, EE32XX, EE42XX).
  • No tutoring for Computer Architecture lab (CS 4140).
  • Tutor has the right to refuse help if student is unprepared.

POOR PLANNING ON YOUR PART DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN EMERGENCY ON OUR BEHALF!

Tutoring Suggestions:

  • Come well prepared with a list of questions.
  • Let your tutor know ahead of time the general area you need assistance in.
  • Be kind and courteous!

Email Guidelines:
Please include in your emails the following:

  • Times that you are available ( Ex. Tue morning or Monday night)
  • The course name and number.
  • Best way to reach you.
  • Specific problem areas.
